Andalusia Country Club La Quinta 2026: Buyer's Guide to Rees Jones Golf and Spanish Colonial Homes

Owning at Andalusia Country Club in south La Quinta is not the same as joining the golf club. Every buyer gets a Sports Club membership with the house, paid through the HOA. The Rees Jones course is a separate, optional membership with its own 2026 initiation fee and monthly dues. That split is the first fact that matters if you are shopping Spanish Colonial and Moorish houses against Coral Mountain and you actually want to know what the year costs.

The club sits at 59195 Marbella, at the base of Coral Mountain and the Santa Rosa range. Sunrise Company is the long-term developer. The architecture, by Phil Pekarek, was researched on trips to southern Spain and takes its cues from Andalusian courtyards and the Alhambra rather than a generic red-tile desert kit.

What is Andalusia Country Club in La Quinta?

It is a private gated golf community, often listed as Andalusia at Coral Mountain, organized around an 18-hole Rees Jones championship course. The club's own golf page calls the layout 7,521 yards, par 72, with six regular tees plus a forward set at 5,489 yards. Fairways are deliberately wide. Nine lakes, three waterfalls, and more than 80,000 plants, flowers, olive trees, and palms sit against the mountains. Members can walk on. The club states that tee times are not required.

The golf clubhouse is a two-story cluster of pavilions around courtyards and a covered arcade: pro shop, social courtyard, ladies' lounge, men's lounge, and mixed dining on the Rees Jones Terrace. Casual dining for Sports Club members is at Tapas Restaurant. The club does not charge a food and beverage minimum.

Is golf membership included when you buy a home?

No. Each owner receives one Sports Club membership with the purchase of a home or homesite. That covers tennis, pickleball, the resort pool and spa, fitness, wellness, bocce, hiking, biking, member trips, and Tapas. It does not include the golf course, the golf practice facilities, or the golf clubhouse.

Per Andalusia's January 2026 resident brochure and membership page, Sports Club dues are $563 a month and are included in monthly HOA dues. There is no Sports Club initiation fee for residents. All memberships are family memberships. Dues, fees, and charges are subject to change, so verify them in writing before you remove contingencies.

What does golf membership cost at Andalusia in 2026?

Resident Golf Club membership is optional and separate. 2026 figures from the club:

  • Non-refundable initiation fee: $60,000. Resident Premier Program: $27,400 for 12 months of golf (one year of dues). After that year you may convert at $50,000, a $10,000 discount off the $60,000 fee, then start monthly golf dues.
  • Resident Golf monthly dues: $2,240.
  • Resident Young Professional Golf (older member or spouse under 50): Premier year $22,025, then $5,000 toward initiation and dues at 80 percent of the regular golf rate ($1,792 in 2026). At age 50 the remaining initiation is due and full golf dues begin.

Guest golf, cart, trail, and caddy fees are published in the same brochure. Unaccompanied guests pay more and a fore caddie is required. Personal carts must be tan, grey, silver, or white. Walk-on access is a real difference from clubs that run a tight tee sheet all winter.

What are the homes like?

The houses are not mid-century Palm Springs. Pekarek's program was Andalusian: stucco, courtyards, ironwork, tile, and fortress-like walls that step with the hillside. Think Spanish Colonial and Moorish vocabulary, not a Wexler steel house. Club Villas and later collections added casitas and golf-cart garages. Floor plans on the resale and new-home market typically run from the low 3,000s into the 5,000-square-foot range, with indoor-outdoor rooms aimed at the course and the mountains. Do not treat a listing price you saw last season as a 2026 comp. Ask for current inventory and a carrying-cost sheet before you bid.

Who is Andalusia actually for?

Buyers who want the club lifestyle without buying a golf membership on day one. Second-home owners who will use the pool, pickleball, and Tapas more than they will walk 18. Golfers who specifically want a Rees Jones course with wide fairways and no tee-time theater. People who prefer a Spanish Colonial street scene to a glass-and-steel one. If you need a member-owned equity club, or you want Alexander and Wexler fabric, this is the wrong gate.
