Chaparral Country Club prints its address as 100 Chaparral Drive, Palm Desert, CA 92260. The name is Chaparral: one p, two r's, and a single l at the end. The club's course page calls the layout 18 holes and par 60. The house in the subdivision and the golf card are not the same purchase.
A listing that moves this club to Rancho Mirage, or to La Quinta, is wrong on the city line. A listing that spells it Chapparal, two p's and one r, is wrong on the name.
Where is Chaparral Country Club in Palm Desert, and how is it spelled?
Chaparral. Not Chapparal, and not Chapparel. The club's own site, chaparralcc.org, uses Chaparral Country Club in the page title and in the footer address. A court banner at the club reads Chaparral Country Club, with a roadrunner over the name.
The city is Palm Desert. The ZIP the club prints on the clubhouse is 92260. Golf Digest's course directory lists the same street, the same city, and 92260, and marks the facility private. There is no Chaparral Country Club in Rancho Mirage in the club's own pages, and none in La Quinta.
What course sits behind the clubhouse?
An 18-hole shorter course, par 60. The club's course page credits Ted Robinson Sr. and says he called it The Little Monster. Golf Digest lists the designer as Ted Robinson, ASGCA. The Desert Sun, on April 23, 2019, called it an 18-hole executive course that opened in 1980 and played to a par of 60.
Yardage does not clear the bar. That 2019 Desert Sun story gave 3,914 yards from the back tees, and Golf Digest's directory also prints 3,914. Foretee prints 4,000. The club's own course page, as indexed, does not state a yardage. Leave the number off the flyer until the golf shop writes it down.
The course page describes water on a walkable layout. That is the golf fact. This is one shorter course beside a clubhouse, not a 36-hole tournament plant and not a second copy of a condominium campus with a plan library in the thousands.
Does a house include Chaparral Country Club membership?
Social access, for a Chaparral homeowner, is the part the club calls automatic. Golf is not.
The membership page on chaparralcc.org, as indexed on September 30, 2026, draws four lines. The live site was returning an error that morning, so read this as the indexed page, then confirm it with the club before you write an offer. The page states no initiation dollars and no dues.
- Homeowner golf: single, couple, and family golf memberships, each with applicable fees. The page points fitness and racquet use back to the social description.
- Social: all Chaparral homeowners are automatically members of the country club. A social member may play golf after paying a daily fee, if a tee time is open. The fitness center and the racquet courts are included in social dues.
- Non-resident golf: a limited number of single and couple golf memberships, with an annual fee. Fitness and racquet use is included on that card.
- Renter golf: monthly golf packages for renters who register with the club office. Fitness and racquet access for a renter is a separate fee.
Do not import a fee table from a broker site. If a number shows up in a current packet, date it. It can change.
The Desert Sun's April 23, 2019 story is the press version of the split. Homeowners at Chaparral automatically had a social membership and still had to purchase golf, and only homeowners could buy that golf card. The indexed page adds a daily-fee path for social members and a non-resident category. Use the current page, not the 2019 sentence, when you ask what a social member may play.
A house that merely sits near the driveway, outside the Chaparral association, is not a Chaparral homeowner on that page. It does not pick up social access, and it does not pick up golf. Inside the association, the deed still does not hand you the golf card.
Who runs the club, and who runs the association?
They are not the same desk. The club's contact page, in the same index, lists a country club manager and gives the clubhouse phone as 760-340-1893. It also says the homeowners association is managed by Albert Management. The association's own site, chaparralhoa.org, which did load on September 30, 2026, confirms the office: Chaparral Homeowners Association, 41865 Boardwalk, #101, Palm Desert, CA 92211, phone 760-346-9000, Albert Management.
That is an association office in a different ZIP from the clubhouse. It is not a second Chaparral in another city. The club's pages, as indexed, do not call the club member-owned. Broker sites do. The 2019 Desert Sun reported that a later course plan would need an assessment of club members. That is a governance clue from 2019, not a 2026 ownership certificate. If a contract needs the ownership line, get it from the club in writing.
What have homes in this subdivision actually closed for?
Closed sales, not a valuation and not a current list price. FlexMLS status C, city Palm Desert, subdivision exactly "Chaparral Country Club": 217 closings from September 23, 2021 to September 15, 2026. Prices run from $323,400 to $765,000. The median is $569,000.
Condominium is the Book Section on 213 of those cards: from $323,400 to $765,000, median $569,000. Single Family Residence is four cards: from $369,000 to $735,000, median $640,000, the midpoint of $580,000 and $700,000. The floor of the file is a condominium, not a co-ownership, a timeshare, or a lot. Two of the four single-family remarks still describe a condo. Read the card, then read the legal. Do not treat those four as a detached-estate market.
Year built on all 217 cards runs from 1980 to 1985. That is the housing stock in the extract. It is not a second source for the year the course opened.
Two of the 217 closings are coded ZIP 92211. The other 215 are 92260, the ZIP the club prints. City on every card is Palm Desert.
How is this different from a large Rancho Mirage condo club?
Scale, and what the house carries. Chaparral is a private club with one shorter course, racquet sports, and a separate association, in central Palm Desert. Sunrise Country Club is the contrast: a Rancho Mirage condominium club on a Ted Robinson layout, where the question is whether equity travels with the unit. Different city. Different card. For the streets around this address, start with the Palm Desert neighborhood page. The short campus note, already live, is the Chaparral Country Club developments page.
What should you confirm before you write an offer?
Is the spelling Chaparral?
Yes. One p, two r's. Chapparal is the misspelling that shows up in listing remarks and even in a photo filename. The club does not spell it that way.
Is Chaparral Country Club in Rancho Mirage or La Quinta?
No. The clubhouse address is 100 Chaparral Drive, Palm Desert, CA 92260. Phone 760-340-1893.
Does buying the house include golf?
No. On the indexed membership page, a Chaparral homeowner is an automatic social member. Golf is a separate membership with fees. A social member may play after a daily fee if a tee time is open. A house outside the association includes neither line.
How many holes, and what par?
18 holes, par 60, on the club's course page. The Desert Sun, in 2019, used the same pair and called the course executive. It also dated the opening to 1980. Yardage is not settled across sources, so it is not in this guide.
Is the club the same thing as the HOA?
No. The clubhouse phone on the club site is 760-340-1893. The association, managed by Albert Management, lists 760-346-9000 at 41865 Boardwalk, #101, Palm Desert, CA 92211. Get the membership letter from the club and the budget from the association.
