The Hideaway Golf Club sits on about 600 acres in La Quinta, framed by Santa Rosa mountain views and the Coachella Valley desert. It is a private, member-owned equity club with gated residential living, two championship courses, and a clubhouse campus that recently finished a nearly $50 million renovation, with final areas opened for members in January 2026.
Two par-72 courses define play. The Pete Dye Course, completed in 2001 and restored in summer 2024 by Tim Liddy, is a links-inspired layout with rolling fairways, native grasses, sand, streams, and ponds. The Clive Clark Course brings a British Isles sensibility to the desert with cascading waterfalls, wildflowers, and broad greens. Private-equity golf memberships are capped at 225 members per 18 holes. Practice includes a double-ended range, an 11,000-square-foot putting green, a dedicated short-game area, and a Golf Performance Center with TrackMan instruction.
The club's residences page describes 434 properties across Villas, Bungalows, Custom Residences, and remaining custom homesites. Villas sit along the Clive Clark fairways with four published floor-plan options and southern mountain views. Bungalows form a small village near the clubhouse. Custom homes and homesites ranging from about one-third to over one-half acre round out the mix. Architectural styles lean Spanish and Santa Barbara contemporary. Public drawings for every plan are not published as a downloadable library, so treat product type and current listings as the inventory source of truth.
The renovation expanded the clubhouse with a Spa and Fitness Center, a new Main Bar, renovated dining, updated locker rooms, a new Golf Shop, and The Key, a poolside restaurant overlooking the lake and ninth green of the Clive Clark course. Dining also includes the Main Dining Room and a 3,000-bottle wine cellar for private gatherings. Membership, initiation, and dues figures are not published for the public site; confirm current schedules directly with the club before underwriting an offer.
La Quinta puts The Hideaway within a short drive of Old Town dining and the rest of the valley. When you compare Hideaway to neighboring private clubs, weigh membership availability and carrying costs beside the purchase price, because equity golf access here is deliberately limited.
