Palm Valley Country Club is Sunrise Company's 36-hole Palm Desert condominium club, built from 1984 to 1991 on about 433 acres north of Country Club Drive between Eldorado Drive and Washington. Community snapshots that match the Sunrise era count 1,274 condominium units on nine miles of roadway: 50 duplexes, 248 fourplexes, five sixplexes, and 16 two-story eightplexes known as The Vistas. Published sizes run from about 925 to 2,500 square feet. Every house is attached product around Ted Robinson golf. That is the offer, and it is why Palm Valley still reads as a lock-and-leave club rather than a custom-lot hillside.
Robinson designed two 18-hole courses. The club's golf page lists a par-72 Championship Course at 6,545 yards from the blue tees, with undulating fairways and water, and a par-63 Challenge Course at 4,232 yards from the tips: nine par 4s and nine par 3s, built as a short course that still asks for a full bag. Bermuda fairways overseeded with rye, Bermuda greens overseeded with poa trivialis, and a grass driving range with short-game areas complete the published golf plant. Pace targets are about four hours on Championship and three hours fifteen on Challenge. The racquet side is a large part of why people live here. Current club copy lists 12 tennis courts, eight lighted, including a stadium court, and 12 pickleball courts, eight lighted, with USPTA instruction. Partner-era descriptions of a 100,000-square-foot clubhouse, a junior Olympic pool, and dozens of neighborhood pool-and-spa sets still describe the campus. Confirm live court and pool counts with the club, because those inventories get resurfaced.
Sunrise built the houses. The club operates the golf and the social rooms. Do not assume the deed includes golf. Named plans circulate in agent marketing. There is no official public drawing PDF pack on this page. Use MLS and the Palm Valley Homeowners Association packet for square footage, rental rules, and which building type you are actually buying: duplex versus fourplex versus Vistas eightplex is a different sound and a different reserve. Monterey and The Lakes are the other Sunrise condominium clubs in the same Palm Desert corridor, with Indian Ridge as the later every-house-on-a-fairway version of the same developer's idea. Palm Valley is the 36-hole, racquet-heavy middle child of that group: more golf than Monterey's 27 holes, less of the all-fairway purity Bone later insisted on at Indian Ridge. If you are comparing the four, start with building type and which course you will actually play, not with a blended average price.
